Piwakawaka

A unique take on a canvas, this Piwakawaka (Fantail) is hand painted onto 12 ply wood circles.  Circles are secured into one piece, for ease of display, and measure approximately 47cm (from highest to lowest points) x 26cm x 1cm.

My interpretation of a Piwakawaka, has been hand painted using oil paints, then each circle is sealed with clear resin.  This gives the picture a lovely glossy finish, and protects the colours from damage and discolouration.
